Maurene's Stars and Stripes CakeFourth of July Garden Party
Maurene and I hosted a Fourth of July Garden Party for the churches. As you can tell by the attire of our guests the weather wasn't typical Independence Day weather. It was showery, quite blustery, and very cool. I had downloaded lots of patriotic music (Sousa marches, Mormon Tabernacle Choir, a little Willie Nelson and some John Denver) and piped it in to the garden. Not my usual fare, but the Brits seemed to enjoy it.

And did the party end with you being hanged as a traitor to the Queen. Jenny and I were just talking about the fireworks display on April Court. Remember that you almost decapitated yourself. We are going to be able to sit on our back porch and watch the big Miramar fireworks display in about two hours.
No fireworks, here. We had around 60 folks show up. I bought 80 drumsticks, 6o quarter pound beef patties, and 60 Cumberland Sausages (no hot dogs) for grilling. I was amazed at how much went uneaten or ungrilled. I think they only had one portion per person. Fortunately, cooler heads told me to stop grilling before everything went on. Happy guests to home the uncooked meat. Guess Brits don't eat as much.
